CALLING ALL CLUBS TO PAINT THE DISTRICT YELLOW to celebrate Zonta's 85th
Birthday on Nov.8.

We' re encouraging all clubs to celebrate in any ways that work best for them ( & to share their ideas with the rest of us ). The purpose of celebrating is twofold: to build spirit internally in our Zonta clubs & to build awareness of Zonta externally throughout our communities... & we certainly hope to have a bit of FUN. Please use whatever you do as a publicity opportunity... We all need to do all we can to let people know we exist - It's certainly
the first step toward increasing membership. You can do something ON Nov. 8
or at your meeting or do several things throughout the month & beyond. Here are some suggestions to start you thinking of your own ideas to celebrate within your club &/or with others in your community. Just remember to do something newsworthy & get it in your media. Together, we'll PAINT THE DISTRICT YELLOW !

°Have a birthday party with a yellow cake, games, invited local
dignitaries

°Ask local government officials to declare a "Zonta Day"

°Put on a skit of your own making- or - use the serious one on Zonta
history from Gov. Sandra Cronk

°Have teams do commercials- for competition or just for fun

°Buy yellow T shirts with the Zonta logo for each member to wear at fund
raisers etc.(Hamburg did.)

°Have a photo of all members in T shirts in your local newspaper

°Wear a yellow hat to the party (especially if it's a tea party), or
meeting ( Pres. Donna Ketchum-Colletta did.)

°Submit articles ( & photos ) to newspapers

°Play "Yellow" games - E.G. : Hamburg played charades of "Yellow" songs-
Yellow Rose of Texas ; Yellow Submarine, etc.

°Wear yellow to the party or meeting- maybe have a contest (The prize in
Hamburg is "The Golden Z")

°Have Yellow Trivia- E.G. : What's yellow & HELPS cure cancer?

°Have a Yellow Quiz

°How many words can you make out of yellow? (at least 12 )

°How many things can you name that are yellow?

These are just a few ideas from the District Board & My club- Hamburg-Orchard Park. I'm sure you have many more & we'd all like to hear them so get creative & get excited about this OPPORTUNITY -once in 85 years- to PAINT OUR DISTRICT YELLOW... & publicize it so the whole area hears about ZONTA!
